In math today I was working with my kids on their rules for divisibility.  I realized as we were going through the rules, they needed some kind of visual to refer to.  I put together these fun and bright posters to hang up in my room.

Center # 1 – Reindeer Races


In this center students will race each other to correctly solve and compare multi-step equations using order of operations.
4.OA.1.3, 5.OA.A.2

Center # 2 – Color by Quotient


In this center students will solve basic division problems and color in their paper accordingly.
3.OA.A.2, 4.OA.A.2

Center # 3 – Jolly Geometry




In this center students will play a fun board game and practice various geometry skills including: symmetry, triangles, lines, quadrilaterals, measuring angles, area, volume, perimeter, and more!

Center # 4 – Frosty Fraction War


In this center students will play a “War” style card game but instead of playing cards, students will play with fraction cards.  They will be comparing fractions and recognizing equivalents.

Center # 5 – Merry Matching





In this center students will play a memory game to match fractions with the coordinating decimal.

Man, it feels good to be back!  Juggling a new grade level, new standars, new reading series, new math series, and my family was a lot harder than anticipated!  Now that our first quarter is over, I'm feeling a bit more centered with everything and got back to work!  My newest file is one of my favorites:  MONSTER MASS!

My class this year was really stuggling with the difference between mass and weight.  I taught it for 2 days and still nada.  I waited a week and then did this PPT with them and noticed a complete turn around!  Amazing what some animated monsters on a screen can do!  LOL
In an adorable Halloween theme, you can teach or review this skill while students take notes on the note-taker (perfect size for interactive science notebooks!). Afterwards, check for comprehension with a 10 question quiz.
